Dictator Putin continues what Dictator Stalin started. Some years ago Russia did start new narrative about Finnish war crimes in WW2. Claims about concentration camps and genocide. All of this aiming just to justify military actions towards Finland. And just for the record, those are just lies, without any evidence. Even straight after WW2, Soviet union prosecutor committee did not find war crimes. On the contrary they did prove that there was not any.   Fi war trials Then few war crimes in WW2 committed by Soviet union, but as usual never admitted by Soviet Union even all hard facts existing. Seitajärvi Elisenvaara After war Kaleva Basically allies (Britain, USA and etc..) in WW2 just helped 1 evil empire to crush another one. Division of death

The Winter War between Finland and Soviet Union in 1939-1940 lasted for 105 days. It was hard and bitter fighting in freezing cold. Soviet Union official history does want to forget it due to their Phyrric victory. And mostly they remember the great patriotic war (WW2 against Germany)

Still there is some books in Russia written about winter war from ordinary infantry man point of view. This book is called Division of death. It's written by Anatoli Gordijenko and it's based on N.I. Klimonov's diaries. He did serve in 18th infantry division

18th division attacked to Finland, but it was encircled at Lemetti area. After that encirclements continued and was divided to 9 different rings. After that started 3 months long bitter fighting in -40 degrees celsius. Finns did have superior tactics but lack of materials and russians did have artillery, tanks etc... But they were stuck and their planning and leadership was quite incompetent.

It was estimated that 15000 Russian soldiers died and only 1000 managed to escape. Division commander G.F. Kondrashov was executed in Soviet Union. Ordinary Russian infantry soldiers did do their best and they were freezing and starving on their foxholes. This book gives first hand view of those russian soldiers who did suffer in this cold nightmare.

The Forgotten front - Unohdettujen rintama Winter war 1939-1940 between Finland and Soviet union, is one of the hardest war's ever. There was several legendary battle grounds such as: Summa, Raate, Taipaleenjoki, Kollaa and so on. But one of hardest battles of that war was fought in northeast of lake Ladoga. I was wondering what should be the first book to be presented. There are so many good books and incredible stories. But then after all choice was pretty easy. White death / Belaja smert – Talvisodan tarkka-ampuja Simo Häyhän tarina Then man and the myth and the legend. This man is undisputed king of the snipers. Number 1 in every sniper kill count lists. With K/D 542:0, think about that all FPS fans. Except this guy was playing for real. This was done in couple of months in freezing cold with iron sights. He made Rambo look like boy scout. Book is written by Petri Sarjanen Finnish teacher and historian. Original version released in 1998 and renewed version in 2007. Sarjanen has done quite good job with source and reference literatures. Source literature does include interview of Simo Häyhä, II/JR34 war diary 1939-40, Red army Karelian front HQ report, several books and articles covering Kollaa front.
